Adjusting Door Closer Arms
Please ensure your door closers are adjusted to prevent the doors from staying open when unattended. The doors must automatically close when not being held open as required by AS1940 On the odd occasion, some closers may require an adjustment to shorten the arm by screwing the thread inwards on the arm.
1) Simply remove the screws from the saddle on the door …then loosen the nut on the thread .. screw in the thread until the door will not stay open on its own, then reassemble and tighten the lock nut. Or 2).. Loosen the locknut on the threaded rod….Remove the vertical screw in the elbow, turn the body of the arm to screw onto the Threaded rod, thus shortening the arm until the door will not stay open. Check the return arms on both doors and repeat the adjustment if required If you have any trouble adjusting the closer arm, please contact us.
