Freight charges across NZ are $85+gst. Rural destinations will incur an additional fee of $85+gst.

There are no vents from any of our cabinets which allow fumes from the cabinet to be leaked into the room they are in , this could cause fumes in the room to ignite from an exterior ignition source , which is not part of AS1940 .95% of General Flammable and Chemical goods do not require the cabinet to have any ventilation. All of our Cabinets have provisions for air flow through the air cavity between the (1.2mm thick steel) double skins of the cabinet.

There is a 2” (50mm) bung in each side of the cabinet ( one at approx 250mm up from the bottom on the left side and one approx 250mm down from the top on the right hand side ) This allows you to screw in a 2” inlet pipe to introduce air into the cabinet cavity (from outside) and through the spark arrestor (Gauze) into the cabinet and exhaust the air outside through the opposite side with a similar 2” pipe attached to the other side of the cabinet. An installation plan comes in the accessories box inside the cabinet. You can attach an inline fan to assist air flow if required.

Our cabinets all have an earth cable.

The only Non Chargeable cabinets suitable for storing Li-ion Batteries are our Patented 100% Stainless Steel 250l Unicabs.

You are buying direct from the manufacturer, there are no middle men, in some cases we can be $1000 less than other retailers and our cabinets are definitely superior!

We design them, we make them , we warranty them, our credibility is in our thousands of customers

All our cabinets are fully welded for strength in case of an internal explosion. Some of our cabinets can come in Flat Pack form .

All our cabinets are powder coated using exterior powder, interior powder is for light fittings etc and is cheaper. Interior powder will fade and go a chalky look after 6- 12 months and eventually peel off.

Our Outdoor cabinets are powder coated with the TCSW powder coat system

All our double door cabinets have sequential self closing doors. See below.

Our company, founded by Bruce in 2002, has evolved into a trusted provider of superior-quality cabinets. You can have peace of mind knowing you’ve purchased the right cabinet.

Our products post 30 June 2021 are backed by a Lifetime Warranty, covering our flammable goods, chemical and lithium-Ion Battery charging cabinets are free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original purchaser. This warranty covers repairs or replacements of defective products at Jagbe Industrial Supplies Ltd discretion. Electrical components, however, are covered under a separate Parts only 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, neglect, accidents, unauthorized modifications, or normal wear and tear or products which have been purchased earlier than 30 June 2021. Proof of purchase is required for all warranty claims.

Li-ion Battery Charging
Where would be the optimum location for a lithium-ion cabinet ?

These are designed for indoors, closer to a door or open window as the 5 fans draw in clean air and forces it over and around the charging batteries to keep the batteries cool at around 10-25 degrees C regardless of the outside temperature . Also when a battery explodes large amounts of Hydrogen Fluoride Smoke maybe omitted so is best to be exhausted in a ventilated area.

We have supplied these cabinets to places to many hot places in Western Australia where temperatures can exceed 50 deg C with no problems. Therefore this Ambient heat can’t be much of a problem .

Do not open the doors if you see smoke omitting , you can’t do anything , water will only produce more toxic hydrogen fluoride smoke and will not extinguish the battery fire. The battery fire will be being fuelled only by its own energy not solvent, oils or any other substance. So it must be allowed to spend that energy and be confined within its compartment while it is happening .

No , we tested that option and 1 in 4times the device did not deploy . The explosion was too quick for the extinguisher and would burn it out before the extinguisher was deployed . The other problem was if the extinguisher did deploy but the fire was in the bottom compartment , there could be 19 batteries and chargers in the way before it could even get near the burning battery , it also mounted false hope that the batteries would be saved from explosion.

After much research we elected to create compartments with the adjustable shelves with 1260 Degree continuous rated HotWall insulation within the shelves walls and doors to mitigate the possibility of exploding batteries lighting up other batteries in a upper or lower compartment . The shelves, while adjustable and removable , have very little clearance gaps enhancing the compartments air tightness, apart from the fan within that compartment, exhausting only air from that compartment over the batteries.

The problem being that some batteries take a lot longer to charge the others eg, one battery may be 10% charged and another maybe 90% charged , how will you know which one will require which length of time to charge. All battery chargers have their own built in device to turn off the charger once the battery is fully charged. If the charger is faulty then the 2 pole breaker will sense an earth leak and trip , or it can trip if it is over loaded.

In short, no we dont. Fire suppression devices can provide the belief that with their presence, there would be no fire or explosion (of the batteries) inside the cabinet.  However what we found, is that they do not deploy every time a fire is detected within the cabinet. If it fails to deploy, and you’re relying on it to contain an explosion, the consequences could be severe.

In 2021, we designed our Lithium Charging Cabinets with compartments resembling small kilns, specifically to contain explosions and extreme heat from failing batteries. We ensured there is no venting through the shelves that could allow flames or heat to spread between compartments, potentially igniting other batteries. This could lead to a catastrophic fire. To prevent this, we incorporated our high-performance 1260°C continuous-rated HotWall insulation into the shelves, walls, doors, and other components. This design ensures that if a battery experiences thermal runaway and explodes, the explosion is contained until the energy is dissipated. Additionally, cooling fans help regulate the temperature of the batteries during the charging process, keeping them cooler and reducing the risk of overheating.
